Talking Circles underway on January 25.
Annual Vestry is THIS SUNDAY!! We have much to celebrate and much to look forward to!
Please plan to come and bring some sandwiches, squares, or other finger foods to share. (And if you know someone who might provide childcare, we’re still looking!)
In addition to the usual reports, elections, and so on, the “New Business” portion of the meeting will be devoted to a presentation on our Strategic Plan (which we will then vote to formally adopt) and an Action Plan that has been drafted to begin to implement the Strategic Plan. The items in the Action Plan are mostly derived from the meeting that took place on January 25, at which we used the technique of Talking Circles to discuss the goals of the Strategic Plan in depth and discern ways to make them a reality.
As a reminder, the basic goals articulated in the Strategic Plan are that by 2024, we will:
Reconciling – Have fully unified as one congregation of All Saints by the Lake and established a culture of open, direct dialogue and ability to manage conflict productively.
Affirming – Have become a community that affirms all orientations and genders, cultural, linguistic, and other identities, and includes people of all ages in the life and worship of the congregation.
Rejoicing – Wholeheartedly celebrate consistent growth in discipleship and commitment to the Gospel of Jesus in the love of God the Father and the power of the Holy Spirit.
Finances – Be financially sustainable as a prerequisite for a thriving parish life
Buildings – Ensure that our buildings are optimally configured to serve the above goals.
